your own light.

A stone is measured in light.

Every stone we sell at our shop in the Grand Bazaar comes with a GIA, IGI or HRD report. Book a visit and we will lay out stones of the same carat side by side, under a loupe and a daylight lamp.

GIA · IGI · HRD certified

Every stone is handed over with an independent laboratory report and its report number.

Made inside the Bazaar

Settings, prongs and stone setting are all done at our own bench in the Grand Bazaar.

Lifetime care

Before you buy

The four measures that set the price

Two stones of the same carat can differ in price by a factor of two. These four headings are what create that difference.

01 · Carat

Weight

A measure of weight: one carat equals 0.20 grams. Price does not rise in a straight line but in steps — the jump between 0.99 and 1.00 carat is a good example.

0,300,500,701,001,502,00+
02 · Cut

How light comes back

The heading that decides brilliance more than any other. A well-cut stone returns light; a cut that is too deep or too shallow leaks it out the side. This is the one we advise you not to compromise on.

ExcellentVery GoodGoodFairPoor
03 · Colour

Degree of colourlessness

Yellow tint increases from D towards Z. D–F is colourless; G–J is almost indistinguishable to the naked eye and offers the best value for money.

DEFGHIJK–Z
04 · Clarity

Internal character

The size and position of the natural marks inside the stone. VS2 and above look clean to the naked eye; in the SI range what matters is where the mark sits.

Put the four together and the price appears. Two stones of the same carat but different cut and clarity can differ twofold — which is why we quote for you rather than print a tag price. Tell us what you are looking for and we will send a firm number the same day.

You do not have to take our word for it

Enter your stone's report number on the laboratory's own site and the weight, colour, clarity and cut will come up. We expect you to check what we tell you.

Size guide

How big, and which size?

The two questions we are asked most. You can answer both here, before you visit.

01 · Carat size

How big does a carat look on the hand?

Carat measures weight, not size — but in a round brilliant the two move together. The stones below are drawn at approximately their real diameters.

02 · Ring size

Finding your Turkish ring size

Measure the inner diameter of a ring you own with a ruler, or wrap a string around your finger and measure its length. Enter it below and we will convert it.

Not sure? That is fine — we size your finger free of charge in the shop, and the first resize after delivery is free too.

Inside the Grand Bazaar

We choose the stone, have the setting made at our own bench in the Bazaar, and hand the piece over ourselves. With no middleman we can talk about both the price and the stone exactly as they are. Once you are inside the Bazaar, we are close enough to ask your way to.

Frequently asked

Questions we get

Why are there no prices on the site?

A diamond price depends on the combination of carat, colour, clarity and cut, so a fixed tag price would not reflect reality. Tell us what you are after and we will send a firm price the same day.

Does every piece really have a certificate?

Every single stone of 0.20 carats and above comes with a GIA, IGI or HRD report. You can look the report number up yourself on the laboratory's site — the links are in the "Certificate verification" section above.

Can I return a piece?

Stock pieces can be returned within 14 days of handover, unworn and with the certificate intact. Bespoke and engraved pieces cannot be returned.

I do not know the ring size — what should I do?

We take the size when you come in. If it is a surprise, just measure the inner diameter of a ring she already wears and send it to us; the first resize after delivery is free.

Do I need an appointment?

Not required, but the Bazaar gets busy. With an appointment we prepare stones matching your criteria in advance so you can compare them side by side.
